Philosophy
I approach my work from a primarily psychodynamic perspective which means that I consider therapy to be an exploration to help you identify, and better understand, how intrapsychic and unconscious conflicts (reinforced in childhood) impact your feelings and behavior today.
The purpose of understanding the past is to help you resolve the current problems and obstacles that are keeping you from reaching your goals. Better understanding and tolerating your emotions will allow you to choose more effective and constructive ways of managing painful feelings.
I strongly emphasize our interpersonal relationship believing that it is through, and because of, this relationship that experiential change takes place. I utilize techniques from a variety of schools of thought.
